I recently had an opportunity to sample the Tortilla/Wraps that Rudi’s was kind enough to send! I’ve wanted to try them since Rudi’s launched them a few months ago. The flavors include Plain, Spinach and Fiesta – certainly a nice variety to please everyone in the family! I am a fan of Rudi’s breads (especially the cinnamon raison), as well as their hot dog rolls and hamburger buns (I haven’t yet tried the pizza crust) so my hopes were high that their tortilla wraps would not fail me in taste, texture, and most importantly “foldability” … would they crack and fall apart?
I’m happy to say, Rudi’s tortillas performed quite well, in all categories! I found, as the packaging suggested, if warmed in the microwave for 20-30 seconds, or on a skillet, they were pliable enough to roll up without cracking! I loved the jalapeno, red pepper, onion and garlic flavors of the Fiesta, the spinach and subtle cilantro flavor of the Spinach, and the Plain was, well, plain and just perfect for filling with PB&J for my kids! (Don’t miss our Giveaway Below)
For lunch one day I filled a Plain tortilla with chicken Caesar and lettuce – delish!
The tortillas are made with healthy ingredients such as Brown rice, Quinoa, Millet and Teff, and there are 5 grams of fiber per serving! They are free of artificial ingredients and preservatives and are GMO-free as are all Rudi’s products.
Fill a tortilla with beans, rice, shredded beef, pork or chicken and you have a delicious burrito, layer in some cheese, melt, and fantastico … a quesadilla! Fill with anything you desire, from tuna to sautéed veggies to chicken Caesar – just wrap together and enjoy! Be sure to check out Rudi’s website for more creative recipes! You can even make tortilla chips by cutting the tortillas into triangles, sprinkling with a little olive oil and salt and bake them in the oven until crisp, and then serve with your favorite dip (sour cream, salsa, guacamole, hummus)!
Rudi’s tortillas are easy to prepare. You can pack them in school lunches, take them to the office, enjoy on a picnic or take them with you on a road or plane trip when gluten-free options are often minimal.
Allergen info: Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut-Free. The tortilla’s contain corn, and they are produced in a facility that also uses soy.

September 27, 2012 at 6:34 pmHi Paula!!! We’ve NEVER had Rudis products b4 b/c its been cheaper for me 2 make everything from scratch. Well, i LOVE to cook & bake but after 12 years of scratch cooking, flour making & scratch baking….i love ANYTHING that will make our lives easier. LOL. I would LOVE 2 win all the products. My son is allergic to gluten, beef, dairy & red/blue food dyes & I’m allergic to dairy & soy & my hubby is lactose intolerant so taco night went by the wayside many years ago. After making quesadillas from scratch every week for several years I finally stopped b/c taco nite is supposed 2b fun & here I was killin myself every week 2 make it edible for my family. A quesadilla maker would be wonderful!!! No more tears b/c Taco Bell & several other restaurants don’t cater to those with food allergies. Yahoo!!!! Praying we win….
Also, I did all the steps u requested above.

September 26, 2012 at 11:00 pmI love Mexican food and have been limited to tacos for many, many years. I miss burritos so bad! None of the stores around here carry them yet or I’d have tried them by now. I see they are also soy free, perfect! I would also love to try making sandwich wraps, so many possibilities, my brain is already spinning in anticipation, lol!

September 25, 2012 at 12:15 pmHey Paula,
London, is a fairly small town, so the options aren’t many. Toronto, on the other hand probably does carry Rudi’s. But that’s 2.5hour drive away, and I don’t even own a car.
I’ve printed the from to give to the grocery stores here, even the one on campus (yes! we have a grocery store on campus). Lets hope they put in some efforts and supply us with Rudi’s sooner than later.
Take care,
Cheers!
Nikki

September 25, 2012 at 9:56 amHi Paula & Rudi’s 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway. I love Rudi’s and sadly can only enjoy them when I’m visiting my brother in Ohio. I wish Canada had many more options for gluten free lifestyle like the USA does.
I couldn’t have hoped for a better timing for this giveaway. I’m in my final year of PhD studies and let’s just say things are getting really busy here, plus I don’t want to compromise on my contribution towards Celiac Disease & Gluten free lifestyle awareness campaign. I have been missing out on the Rudi’s deliciousness and would definitely savor them. The Quesadilla maker would make my life easy and help me manage my time in the kitchen better.
Cheers!
Nikki
