Sabine Lisicki, a 2013 runner-up at Wimbledon, was diagnosed with non-celiac gluten-sensitivity, after suffering years of symptoms including stomach pains, nausea and poor concentration, according to an article in www.express.co.uk.
“The 2013 Wimbledon runner-up had accepted the ailments and continued to train and compete until she lost consciousness during the 2011 French Open”.
Sabine, 24, is feeling well again after eliminating gluten, and is currently playing in the 2014 Wimbledon games. “Not only do I feel stronger and healthier, I have a lot more stamina and I am more determined than ever to play well”.
Sabine has recently teamed up with Dr. Schär, the parent company of DS-gluten free, to spread awareness of gluten sensitivity.
