Stone Hearth Pizza serves delicious, innovative, thin crust pizza prepared in an open flame brick oven. Along with pizza, they offer a variety of salads and pasta dishes using local, organic ingredients. We tried several pizza’s which were topped with fresh, savory ingredients. Gluten-free options include: (starters) stuffed meatballs, antipasti & marinated olives. (salads) Caesar, Fennel, Spinach & Avocado & Arugula & Portobello and a nice variety of homemade dressings. (GF pasta) Meatballs with ricotta, mozzarella & provolone, Pasta Diablo and Pesto Caprece. Wine, beer, and specialty coffees are offered, along with a few GF desserts: Hot Fudge Sundae, Ice Cream Float and Local Gelato. Our kids enjoyed the open view to the kitchen and interacting with the friendly servers. Stone Hearth has a warm & inviting atmosphere – just what we needed on a snowy New England afternoon.
Side note: for those in your party not on a GF diet, we hear their MAC & CHEESE is the best ever!
Stone Hearth’s website notes they … “support family farming, protect natural resources and strengthen local economies” – so we like supporting Stone Hearth!
After dining at Stone Hearth, why not take a short walk over to 1038 Great Plain Ave, and visit A New Leaf, a tiny, but well-stocked store carrying natural foods, herbs, vitamins and an extensive variety of gluten-free food and products.
